The Risk Analyst role sits at the heart of PhonePe’s lending business. As a member of the expanding risk strategy team, you will design, develop, and continuously refine risk frameworks that protect the business from fraud and credit loss while supporting aggressive growth targets. You will collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams, translating complex data insights into actionable strategies that safeguard the platform and its users. Key Responsibilities: 1. Build and operationalise risk strategies to mitigate fraud and credit risk for the consumer lending portfolio. 2. Identify, evaluate, and integrate alternative data sources (e.g., behavioural, transactional) to strengthen risk assessments. 3. Develop, validate, and maintain predictive risk models using techniques such as decision trees, XGBoost, and ensemble methods. 4. Conduct deep‑dive data analysis to uncover risk patterns and recommend mitigation actions. 5. Communicate model outcomes, insights, and recommendations clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders and senior leadership. 6. Monitor model performance in production, perform back‑testing, and iterate for continuous improvement. 7. Collaborate with engineering to embed risk scores into real‑time decision engines. 8. Prepare risk dashboards and regular reporting for compliance and business monitoring. 9. Participate in ad‑hoc risk reviews, audits, and regulatory reporting as required. 10.
