The Consulting Analyst role is positioned within Cognizant’s Insurance practice, specifically serving Property & Casualty (P&C) clients. The analyst works in a hybrid day‑shift model, collaborating with global consulting teams to deliver data‑driven insights, process optimisation and technology solutions that improve underwriting, policy servicing, claims handling and regulatory compliance. The position offers exposure to end‑to‑end insurance value chains, hands‑on experience with core insurance platforms and the chance to influence strategic road‑maps for leading insurers. Key responsibilities include: 1. Conducting detailed consulting analyses to identify operational bottlenecks and loss‑ratio drivers across underwriting, rating, policy servicing and claims. 2. Leading discovery workshops with business stakeholders to capture functional requirements and translate them into structured deliverables and solution backlogs. 3. Leveraging premium, exposure and claims data to generate actionable insights, trend analyses and risk‑profiling reports. 4. Preparing client‑ready artefacts such as process maps, operating‑model diagrams, impact assessments and business cases. 5. Facilitating solution‑design sessions that align business needs with capabilities of policy administration, claims management and rating engines. 6. Executing impact assessments for changes in underwriting rules, rating logic or claims guidelines and quantifying expected benefits. 7. Supporting implementation by drafting user stories, validating functional behaviour and coordinating UAT for P&C use cases. 8. Delivering walkthroughs and demos of proposed processes and prototypes, gathering feedback and refining recommendations. 9. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—business analysts, architects, developers and testers—to ensure feasibility and traceability of recommendations. 10. Maintaining reusable knowledge assets such as templates, estimation models and domain playbooks. The tech stack typically includes SQL, Python or R for data analytics, Power BI/Tableau for visualisation, and exposure to major P&C platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAP Insurance). Strong consulting skills, structured communication and familiarity with regulatory frameworks are essential.
